Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
Just a followup. Have not thrown a shutout ever again. In fact my numbers have been all over the place.
Since the 0 night:
4.87
2.86
1.7
7.29
12.43
12.11
7.33
5.34
9.61
3.83
4.37
Overall my numbers on the new machine are a 6.84. So I'm not too displeased. I see sleep Doc on 11th, so we'll see what he thinks.

Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
My appt with Sleep Doc got cancelled and now I am not due to see him till Nov 1st. I had done some number crunching in anticipation of seeing him. Here's what I found
Got S9 BiPap Machine on Aug 15th, along with a FFM. I had 2 FFM and a very old Nasal Pillow mask and i experimented with all of them. Results:
Average AHI 16.99
On Sep 11 I got a Dreamweaver Advance and for the next 12 days
Average AHI 10.38
Saw Sleep Doc who recommended a new machine S9 VPAP St. Since then on new machine, Dreamweaver and a new Swift LT
Average AHI 6.86
Last week of the 6.86 is an average of 6.27. So I definitely feel I'm heading in the right direction. I'm still fatigued almost all day, but I have noticed that although fatigued, I am not taken naps. Before I would take naps and still be fatigued.
So I don't mind staying as-is for another 3 weeks before seeing the doc.

What kind of sleep disorder has your Doc decided that you have when you got the S9 VPAP ST?
I am asking b/c you're fatigued almost all day.

Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
He hasn't said. He has said that he thinks what I have now is centrals. And that if we don't get rid of them on the S9 VPAP ST, he'll try to get me on the S9 ASV. As far as the fatigue, I'm seeing progress. I'm still tired but I used to have to take naps just to survive, and now I can get thru the day tired but with no nap.
Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
Well.... here's where I am now. Scheduled for a Titration study Monday (11/12) on a ResMed S9 ASV machine. My scores averaged a 9.22 that included 2 days where I blew a 26 and a 35. I was swapping between 2 masks, a Swift FX and a Sleepweaver Advance. With the Swift I averaged a 11 and a 6.5 on the Advance. After Doc scheduled me for the ASV test, I exclusively used the Advance and averaged a 5.35. Still tired all the time.
So.... let's see how the ASV test goes.....

Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
Well, my ASV titration study is over. Definitely my least favorite night of titration but not because of the ASV. I could feel the bursts of air periodically from the ASV trying to get me to breathe. And the tech said at the beginning of the test that between the ASV and the automatic air pressure I had no centrals. I assume I also had no OSA's but I don't know that he said that.
The unpleasant part was the mask(s). They said I couldn't use mine (Sleepweaver Advance and Swift LT), and instead had to use their FFM. Started with Amara. Guy clamped it down TIGHT to eliminate leaks. After a the initial good session, he said I started lowering my jaw, which then caused the masked to leak. So they would try a different mask and tighten it even more. I think I went thru 5 masks and for a while a chinstrap, all getting ever tighter. Geez. I thought my sinus cavity might collapse.
I was awake most of the second half of the test.
So based on what tech said, I'll be getting an ASV machine. I'm still going to try to use my masks with it at first. To be continued....

Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
You can use a swift LT with an ASV - I do!
But you have to make sure you don't have leaks, in my case, I tape my mouth shut (only way I've found so far)
I'd suggest just getting the darn thing, then use whatever mask you want with it. I think you'll like the results.

Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
OK so I picked up the new machine today. Took a little nap of almost 2 hours just to see how it would feel. Then I got into the clinical setup to see how they set up things.
Here's what I saw
Mode ASV
EPAP 9
Min PS 4
Max PS 15
Climate Ctrl Auto
Sleep Quality On Was usage
Leak Alert On Was off
Smart Start Off
AB Filter No
So my amateur reading of this is I am finally off a fixed pressure (I was always 16/12 previously)
Sleep Report
Insp Pressure 18.4
Exp Pressure 9
RR 14
They had the AHI Display off, but I turned it on. It said my AHI for my nap was 0.0. Normally a nap gives me really high score. I also wasn't sure if it might have been above 0.0 if the display had been set to "On" before the nap.
So I'm anxious for might first night sleep. My sleep doc can't read my card once it was in Sleepyhead, so I promised him I'd not remove it from machine for a couple weeks. On the other hand, if I can get the AHI from the screen I'm probably good.

Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
Had my first night of sleep with ASV machine. Was awoken once by what I think was the leak alarm. Don't remember specifically doing anything to stop a leak, but I do remember wondering whether the alarm had been going off for a while.
Anyway my AHI as displayed on machine was 0.6 so Night 1 appears to have gone well.

Re: Can I get a SleepyHead analysis? Paging DeltaDave
Well, I now have 3 nights (plus) on the new ASV. That 0.6 is my highest reading. One was a 0.0 the other a 0.2. So obviously it has solved my problems with the clusters of Events in the AM. And I was averaging about 6 on the old machine.
And I'm sleeping well. In fact I'm sleeping a lot. I'll sleep about 7 hours, get up for a couple hours and then sleep a couple more, and then around 4 or 5 PM I'll grab another hour or so. So I'm still getting tired during the day. I'm hoping (but doubtful) that this is the sleep debt thing.
