Gettin it On! CPAP SEX?

Whenever I complain that DH snores, he wants to get a connector and "share my hose". Is he really trying to suggest something else???

OK, I usually don't kiss and tell, but with an nasal mask, an open mouth kiss can puff your partner's cheeks like Dizzy Gilespie.

If you are male, treatment with CPAP is SUPPOSED to increase testosterone if your hypogonadism if central hypogonadism. I noticed I got night time erections when I first started CPAP but I take so much klonopin nowadays, that dumbs down the slow wave sleep and interferes with me getting nighttime erections like I used to get when I was young.

Proper sleep like CPAP should give you helps eliminate depression, lower hypertension, helps diabetes...all of which should help the libido department indirectly. And if your prob is low T, CPAP should help some if you are male. But you still might need Testosterone Replacement Therapy despite CPAP...I did. I need both to get it up good.

I now remember my "gettin it on" feeling was coming back in mid 2008 and part of 2009 when I lost a lot of weight. And was using CPAP daily. Yeah man, them early morning erections were coming back. Also some sexual dreams. I almost never dream. Part of that also seemed to occur when I simultaneously cut my klonopin dosage back a lot. Halved my klonopin summer and fall of 2008.

Gaining weight, increasing klonopin worsened sex drive. Despite 100% CPAP compliance. I personally think there is some sort of strong relationship between getting good, deep stage sleep (slow wave) and also how fat you are. Leaner you are, GENERALLY the higher a guy's testosterone levels are. And the better the slow wave sleep you get, the more testosterone is released in sleep.

I can tell you this. Benzos like klonopin and valium are AWFUL for sex and in my experiences, cause ED and decrease T levels. Or at least prevent T from being produced in proper amounts.

Oh wonderful. Just the news I wanted to hear so if I EVER do get the chance with a partner again, this is what I have to look forward do.

Thanks Mr. Psychiatrist for moving me to the Clonazepam. At least I won't become some crazed sex offender

I recently dropped my antidepressant which is known for killing sex drive. Sex drive came back - and somehow I find that very anti-depressing!!

You know how you are truly depressed? When your sex drives gets WORSE when you go off your antidepressant. My sex drive gets better when I taper off klonopin, which I dont seem to be able to do lately anymore. But when I dont take my antidepressant, my libido gets even worse.

Thats when you KNOW you have major depression and not "woody allen syndrome."

Well per my psych visit last evening, I talked him down from the 1mg 3x Clonazepam to .5mg 3x And added generic 10mg Ambien to help me sleep as needed and I have stopped the Melatonin.

I told my dentist if he gave his cpap another shot, his wife would really appreciate a certain 'side effect'. (winking)
