Vicks (Kaz) Scent Pads experience

Post by TalonNYC » Mon Sep 10, 2012 10:43 am

Hi folks:

Probably been discussed before, but found a nifty trick. I have a sinus infection going (very mild, no worries) and the post-nasal drip is making me cough at night. So, before CPAP I would use vicks vapo-rub and the camphor and eucalyptus would very effectively calm the cough so I could sleep. CPAP makes that a problem, as if I put it on my nose it gets in the mask, and if I put it on my chest I don't inhale it due to the mask.

Vicks (and/or Kaz) makes these little vapor-pad things for use in dry humidifier gadgets. If I put one near the intake filter for the CPAP, I get the vapors for up to eight hours. Works great, and with a small dish there is no mess, and no clean-up except for tossing the pad in the AM. Mind you, they're a bit pricey, so may look for a better solution in time, but for now they do work very well.

Hope it helps.
