My new Hose Demustifier

I'm building a blower to dry out my hose.

This is it almost assembled:


Here are the parts:


It even has a filter. I can use a good filter or even a tissue:


Its made from a Sisema Klip ot Breakfast to go container.

So far the costs are $20 for the fan, $5 for the container, $5 for the O2 injector port $5 for the switch and power connector. This fan runs off 12V so I'll just grab a plug pack that is in my box of unloved transformers. The fan should have been much cheaper but it was in the shop I was at.

Hubby did this with a salvage computer fan and a cut down sport drink bottle.
(some will fit right on the hose) I'd be using it now, but he got distracted. . .

I'm guessing someone already has patented a blower in a box.

The thing even works as a cpap machine... if your max pressure is 0.25.

Intriguing idea; what's your choice of 12VDC supply? I gather your connectors are bayonet plugs?

I have many... many of those projects. They are sitting somewhere, and I can't seem to find them!!

I was at the parts store and bought a jack that would fit in a round hole and a matching plug. If I don't find something that fits, I'll put the new end on an old transformer. Work is now using some very high efficiency switching supplies that come with a whole bunch of different ends. The fan takes about a watt so 100 ma or more will work fine at 12V.

Interesting thread. I've got a bunch of those fans and parts sitting around. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Whats the drying time on this?
