Do I need to eject my SD card when accessing provider menu?

Post by britinjapan » Sat Sep 08, 2012 6:01 pm

Do I need to do anything to my SD card, as I changed my A-flex to on, after I received the machine with it switched off?

There is a few seconds message that says something about the card, but I cannot read it as its too fast...

What exactly needs to be done?

Thanks for this great community

There is no need to remove the SD card at all unless you are wanting to use the software.
Doesn't hurt to have it out though.
Each time you insert the SD card the machine goes through a "recognizing" thing. It is brief. If the SD card was blank then it takes a bit longer because the machine will then write any missing data to the SD card.

If your changes "stick" and the machine continues to use them after you've turned it on and off a few times, don't worry about the SD card.

The doctor or DME can put your prescribed settings on the SD card. These settings will reset any settings changes you have made. What happens after that seems to vary from machine to machine. Sometimes, it only happens once. Sometimes, it seems that the settings on the card keep overriding the settings you choose.

In some cases, you may need to format or replace the SD card to get your changes to stick.

That is why it is always a good idea to have a 2nd SD Card.

I would always "format" any SD Card I bring to the DME or Sleep Doctor - before I put it back into my APAP.
Never can tell what they may try to sneak onto that card.

Since the APAP writes back the information onto the formatted SD card, you will not lose any information - as long as you downloaded the latest information into the Software before taking the SD Card to the DME / Sleep Doctor.

Many thanks. How does one format a card?

I took a second card this morning from my APAP to my Mac, but forget to switch it to read only, so would like to swipe it clean as well.
