((edit: eeesh, didn't even realize the OP was from 2012))

Some Alabama craigslist sales in Dothan and Birminghan, i think:

Looks like an s9 autoset for $275.
https://dothan.craigslist.org/hab/5607423141.html

Looks like an PR S1 auto for $250:

always check:
1. the year of manufacture.
2. hours used.
3. smoke free environment.
4. get pictures of the screen turned on and of the serial number and machine.
5. know exactly what you are looking for and what it looks like.

most people will ship it USPS 2 day priority for $25 to $35 depending on mailing zones and box size and the boxes and tape are free, but not the cushioning materials like bubble wrap. so you can look nationwide.

I would have difficulty with one day without a machine, 2 days is unthinkable.

I've shipped out machines and received machines via many delivery services and sheet bubble wrap is the way to go IMO. Never had a problem. A sturdy small box is usually fine if you're not including masks, hoses etc. I did once receive a machine only in a thin cardboard box and it's nylon travel case... I was worried about damage but it worked fine once plugged in (I don't recommend that tho, mostly due to varying quality of construction of the cases). The big knob sticking up on PR machines can be a problem during shipping, or so I recall people saying in the past. Something like a short cardboard tube from gift wrap or whatever taped over the knob should dampen impacts and might not be a bad idea. Probably the same with older ResMed machines.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
