If your computer has a slot for SD card you don't need a card reader. If no slot then all you need is a reader/adapter. One end for the USB port and one end to slide the SD card into. Doesn't have to be name brand, generic will do.

Try both ResScan and SleepyHead and see which you like the best. I found that there are pros and cons for each.
I actually have both installed but mainly use SleepyHead because it is so much faster.

You got both the Climateline heated hose and the slimline? Good job. Always good to have a spare.
There is a video on fitting the Swift LT if you have any trouble.

A bit of Lansinoh ointment on the nostrils really does help if you get a bit of tenderness there.
If you have much more than slight tenderness then most likely you have the straps too tight.

Check your private messages in a bit and I will send you some information about ResScan 4.1. It is a bit faster download and other than that I can't see any difference in it. But faster is a help because it is sooooooo slow that any help is appreciated.

Hmmm....link is really slow to load for me. You may have to click on the mask education thing to get to the masks.
They have videos for a number of masks and you just click on the one you want to watch. It won't load for me now but it did earlier when I got the link. Maybe the website is having some problems.

Oops...it just now finished loading for me...they are there.

I don't see a Swift LT video...I thought that they had one...maybe I dreamed it.
Just watch the Swift FX video. The basics are the same...don't get the straps too tight.

ResMed's video

which seems to be in pieces

or try this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENubSIlIaXY

Hi,

Please do post back and tell us how it went. I really like my Swift LT, but preventing mouth leaks has been a big challenge for me. I do both a chin strap (the Puresom Ruby) and 3M micropore tape. Even that isn't a 100% solution, but I find it much more liberating than a full face mask.

With the Swift LT mask, I slept about 4 hours last night, I blame that on minor nasal irritation because of the mask.

HOWEVER...

I am really pleased with the minimal contact the mask makes with my face, so I can get used to the nasal irritation. My nose isn't sore or anything this morning, I can sleep on my back, or my side, the mask doesn't shift or feel less comfortable. I just need to figure out a way to route the hose to minimize hose drag, but I have a few ideas there.

I don't have a SD card reader yet, but I pulled the numbers off of my machine and here's what I came up with :

AHI - 2.7
Leak rate - 3 ml
Apneas - 1.6
Centrals 1.1

Those look pretty good to me.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Did you try doing the routing the hose over your head with the attachment to hold the short hose on top of the headgear with the little clip to hold the hose in place attached to the top of the headgear?
A lot of people like to do it that way. Keeps the short hose at a constant tension and lessens hose drag with movement.
Others route the whole long hose over their head with some sort of hose management system.

I'm actually hooking the short hose up tonight with the clip. I'll let you know how it works out for me tonight

Hi,

That looks fantastic, especially considering it is a first night with a new mask. I have a few suggestions:

1) I found that the little hose on the mask was just a little short, and it tended to cause the mask to pivot up just a little. I then figured out that I could unclip the little hose from the headgear clip, then clip in the main hose, making that little hose about an inch longer. That really helped me.

2) I keep my machine lower than the bed to help prevent rainout. I then route the hose up behind my pillow between the mattress and the headboard. That seems to hold the hose in place, and it gives me the freedom to move around and roll over without the hose getting in the way or moving my mask around.

3) I sometimes do get irritation of the skin where the pillows touch my nose. I also find that I sometimes get tiny leaks that can easily drive me batty. A solution for both of these is a tiny, tiny bit of Lansinoh applied to the nasal pillows. Just a very thin film will help make a better seal. Too much will actually cause worse leaks. You can find Lansinoh in the baby products section of a supermarket or drug store. It comes in a purple tube.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try that tonight.
