Thanks for mentioning this diet, Janknitz. I looked into it, and see I regularly eat a few things I thought were pretty innocuous: canned coconut milk, salted nuts, and quinoa

And then there's the stuff I know is not good for me, but eat anyway a couple times a week (popcorn and butter).

I've got to get back to making those fermented sides again: beet kvass, sauerkraut, and salsa.

A gluten-free resource I use a lot is http://glutenfreegirl.com/. Shauna has had some challenges with additional allergies, so I suggest you spend some time reading on her site.

Black Spinner, isn't that some great progress right there because a few weeks back she thought she could try a little and wouldn't have an issue. Sounds like she finally "GETS" it! Whoo Hoo! Progress!
It really is. She also reported that when she screws up and eats stuff that she reacts to (non-gluten) her body is reacting differently and much more gently.
We're surrounded by dairy farms around here, but you can't buy locally produced raw dairy anywhere. DH went to a men's club retreat at the home of someone who has a few cows (not a commercial dairy herd) and now I want him to stalk this guy and see if he'll sell us raw milk.
What some people in Ontario were able to do is buy their own cow and keep it at someone like that. That got around the regulations, because it is your cow that you are boarding with him. I have to admit I am not a fan of the idea of raw milk. It is too dangerous to open the regulations for just anyone. Too many people, mostly children, died in the past.

Has any one tried goat milk?

Brie made from pasteurized milk is not the same as the real stuff--just saying.
(goat cheese is not bad, either.)

I love goat cheese, I hate goats milk. It is like someone washed their dirty socks in it to me.

In the Netherlands hard green aged goats milk cheese was very popular when I was 7. A way to clear a school bus is to put a sandwich of it in the heating system.... The smell is indescribable... they had to get another bus to take us home.
