new and confused!

Post by woozle » Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:38 am

Hello All! I know I have sleep apnea and go in for my 'consult' this week and am reading up to ensure that I hopefully have the right questions and request the right machine, etc. starting out. I am confused about taping the mouth? Is that because the mask goes over the nose only? Thanks for all the info to date - I am hopeful that the uncomfortable part of wearing the mask is worth it when I wake up rested?

Yes, the mask goes over your nose. Or in the case of "pillows", just rests on your nostrils.

But, some people "mouth breathe" - that's a no-no. So they either have to get a full face mask, or they elect to tape their mouths shut.

Read this forum before you buy your equipment.

More will chime in tomorrow. Night.
