If you are on face book, search for and like glacier national park. You will get many spectacular pictures! We were heading up on July1 and a lady had a seizure crossed t lanes of road and hit us hear on right fender to righr front fender. Everyone was OK even our 2 greyhounds. We did not get there so we will drive up in mid August. Enjoy Montana and the Canadian Rockies.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think that I've been talked into using the ResMed one in "passive mode" *smile*. If that doesn't work well enough, then I'll take a closer look at the Respironics. But I kind of like the idea of the designer look of the matching units in the tent *smile*.

Roger, you need to spend some time with your machine before you go away <smiles>.

I understand that human beings used to breathe without humidification or positive airway pressure at one time.

Try it at home. If you're not mouth breathing, you may very well get along fine without humidification or with passive humidification.

Do you have mouth breathing or dry throat at home? If so, you may want to look harder at stopping mouth leaks, especially when traveling.

So far as I know, I'm not a mouth-breather *smile*...and if I spent any more time with my machine at home, I'd have to marry it *smile*.

I assume that you mean to try out some of this stuff...I've already tried out the battery, converter, inverter, turning off the humifier, etc. The only thing that I haven't tried is using the S9 with the slimline tubing, which I will do before I go, of course. I think that I feel pretty much ready to travel now, at least I know how I'll deal with most things, and have some backups in mind should I need them. I'm hoping, of course, that things go well on the trip, but this is my first trip so I'm sure that there's one or two things that I've overlooked *smile*.

I even have a letter from my doctor so that I can carry the CPAP on an airplane, should I need that. It simply says that the CPAP is a medical necessity for me, so I should be allowed to carry it on a plane.

Thanks for all the help from folks here, you've given me some good ideas (as if I need more "ideas", just ask my wife *smile*).

One last thing, bring a copy of your perscription. If something bad happens to your equipment, you can replace it while on the road. At least in while in the states.

I never saw my prescription...my doctor and the dme that he uses work together and my prescription went directly to the dme and things went really smoothly. I'm sure that I could get it from my doctor, and probably should...haven't had a reason until now.

Every other page on this forum people are advised to "get a copy of your sleep study AND prescription" "in your hand" - then there are those who always think "oh I won't need it".

Good Luck

Having used cpap.com in the past (and present), both of our prescriptions are on file.
We have hard copies at home, but can access the online pdf's anywhere there is internet.
