Happy Nose

Post by krousseau » Sun Mar 26, 2006 12:03 pm

For two days my allergic nasal passages were as bad as ever (on three meds for same). And I had been thinking of going off one med at a time as the filtered/heated/humidified air of the CPAP seemed to be helping a lot. Then I discovered that when I traded my "old" CPAP that had been squealing-in for a new one the DME had left off the filter setup. AND I HAD NOT checked it when I set it up at home. You have been saying here-take charge of your own care. That will include starting from step 1 in the manual any time my machine is in for tunup or whatever. Rigged up a filter last night and my nose is happy this morning. The RT will also get an ear full Monday AM.

Faced with the choice between changing one's mind and proving that there is no need to do so, almost everyone gets busy on the proof.....Galbraith's Law

Glad you had some detective in you, krousseau, and found the problem. You're right. Best to check everything about the setup oneself.

I rather thought a lungfull of unfiltered air would be a better revenge!

By the way, my instruction manual is very clear about "never run the machine without the filter"!
