Big problem starting Encore

Post by Selena » Sun Mar 26, 2006 9:26 am

Hi, well the 2 Encore programs are installed, and the card reader set up. I tried to open either program and got error messages re the SQL server and connections, and on further investigation, was 'told' that the SQL server needed to work with MS net framework 2.1, not 1.1 as I was told to use as the only version that would work with the programs. Can someone out there please let me know what to do now? We have downloaded an 'express' version of the SQL - a new one costs $3,800 (or something close to it) to buy, and certainly no mention whatsoever was made of that (apart from a little mention of SQL, almost in passing, in Derek's installation notes) being a major factor. Thank you very much.

Selena, I have Encore Pro and MyEncore on both our computers and they have version 1.1 and version 1.0 and they work fine.

I'm not very computer literate, but I will PM you some written info I have. Perhaps there is a step or hint in there that will help you.

By the way, the SQL you need is included in the download of Encore Pro.

Make sure you have the USB port checked under Preferences - more info on that is in the hints I'm sending you.

Hope it helps.

Big problem with Encore

Post by Selena » Sun Mar 26, 2006 12:24 pm

Linda - we got that problem sorted out, but now what's happening is that the card reader will not work because it doesn't work with XP apparently (my husband's been doing a lot of the figuring - his PC (mine's a Mac) and so I'm going to talk to Mako tomorrow. BTW, I AM registered (as Julie), but there's a glitch (Admins. know about it) and I have to post as Selena til it gets worked out. Thanks a lot!

Printer and file sharing need to be on also. The reader software file has to be installed with the reader unhooked. the reader file is over 6 meg in size.
from the 2 Factors site DT3500 postal and sliding, install for Encore Pro.
