As long as the grin doesn't turn into a frown from allergies, side effects, or overdoing it.

Agreed. One should 'start low and go slow' when adding magnesium bicarbonate water to their daily regimen. About 8 oz twice a day away from from meals and let bowel tolerance tell you when you can increase. I drink a gallon a day and use it to make my tea, coffee, and mostly drink mixes. It would take a month or so to work up to this amount.

The study referenced above was done in Europe using water that had an extremely high bicarbonate level (3388 mg/l)...about 5x the level of homemade magnesium bicarbonate water (~650 mg/l) made from plain old Milk of Magnesia and carbonated water. The homemade variety is much closer to the makeup of the California spring waters rich in magnesium.

All I can say is MB water saved my life. That is not an overstatement. I was on hospice level meds, and now am on no meds. I get calls from family and friends telling me how much it has helped, and in some cases transformed their lives, or the lives of their loved ones. These are very gratifying.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
