I really hope that the combination of correcting the deviated septum, losing weight (I am down so far from 85.5 kilos to 79.5, 188 to 175 lbs) (height 1.70 mtr, 5'7") and using the oral device will get me out of the woods. Is that a reasonable expectation?

Yes, explore every other option including weight loss before surgery.
Im going to have my nose done too, but for mostly daytime issues and congestion, etc. If it slightly improves OSA then all the better.
