Review on Pad a Cheek Bella Loop covers

Post by Pugsy » Sat Jun 30, 2012 10:16 am

Review on final version of the Bella Loop covers.
I have used them for 3 nights now.
They do exactly what they are supposed to do..keep from pinching the ears and offer comfort in the ear groove ...all done while you don't even notice they are there.

Velcro closure so no need to take the straps out of the buckle. Velcro strip is tiny and never felt at all. Material used offers softness and comfort without excess bulk.
So extremely easy to put the covers over the loops and once they are worn...they simply aren't felt but they do the intended job quite well.

Karen said I could post this...she is ready to release them.

She also has a newly designed side strap cover for the Bella Loop side straps.. Fits perfectly over just the part that touches the cheek and might leave marks. Snug fit. She has used her usual soft fleece..not thin but not real heavy fleece. Just the right weight and fullness to prevent the marks on the cheeks from happening.

Not sure if she has these 2 products up on the website yet but I believe that they are now available.

If anyone looks at my recent thread on awake events being flagged...there is a report from last night in that thread.
No leaks except a couple of blips which I expect was me opening my mouth.
Last night I used just the loop covers...wanted to see what they were like with nothing but the pink side covers that come with the Bella. My biggest concern all along was that potential bulk in the loop covers would make pillow more unstable...that concern is now totally gone.

Isn't the Pad a Cheek owner a contributing member on this site? Just curious who it is?

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Hey Pugs!

How would you rate the Padacheeks to these? Do you have experience with them? I've tried 'em a couple nights and while they're soft, they're a bit bulky and warm.

Thanks,

I bought these way back when the Bella Loops first came our and before Karen started working on hers.
I hated them. Way too bulky. Wouldn't stay in place in the groove behind the ear. Fabric was rough and itchy...felt yucky to touch. If you think they are "soft" then you will think Karen's are like a cloud.
Also the need to disassemble one side of the loop was a PITA.
In all honesty..I can't think of one nice thing to say about them.

I didn't see them on her web site yet.I wonder if the strap part and the ear part will be sold as a set or separate from each other and how much they will cost.

Here is a photo of one side of the Bella loop PAD A CHEEK Covers. They are sold as a set of 4 pieces and the price is $15.00

Is the black piece the same material as the white? It appears thicker?

The navy blue piece is thicker than the white piece. The white piece has to be very thin so as not to make the strap pop out from behind your ear.
These are both micro fleece, just different thickness. The Navy blue one is a cone shaped tube and the white piece attaches to itself with velcro. You do not have to take the strap out of the slits to install these pads. I hope that helps.

Is it possible to adjust the straps (e.g., tighten) during the night with the blue fleece over the straps? Or is the fit too tight to slide it up or a couple fingers in? I an often haven to tighten or loose in the middle of the night and would not want to have to turn on the light, remove the fleece, then thread it back through.

Can the blue part be purchased without the ear piece part?

Yes, there is room to slip a couple of fingers in and grab the end of the loop to tighten things. It isn't so tight that you can't get to it. It is snug but not tight and the fleece is flexible.
If there is not quite enough room though (someone with large fingers maybe)...it would be real easy to snip away a tiny little section so that you could get to the end a bit easier.
