heated tubing

Post by seekingsleep » Mon Jun 18, 2012 3:55 pm

I have had my CPAP machine for just over a month now and I love it. You could not pry it from my cold dead hands!

I do have a question about the humidifier and heated tubing.
Is the tubing supposed to stay warm all night? When I first turn on the machine the tubing warms up but does not stay heated nor does it warm up until I turn the unit on again. Is this happening because the water inside the reservoir is now warm or do I have a faulty machine/tubing?
I love sleep. My life has a tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?"

My Climateline tubing has never felt warm to the touch.
I only know it is working because if I turn it off in the winter, my nose gets cold--really cold.
My thought is that if the hose felt warm to the touch, the air going through it would be uncomfortably warm.

I have been using the s9 autoset for almost 2 years. The first winter( very cold ) I noticed it being warm to the touch. But this last winter( not so cold) I didn't notice it being warm to the touch. The room temperature is usually at 68 during the winter and 74 the rest of the year.

Hand temperature may also affect the way we perceive temps. Cold hands will likely perceive things a bit warmer than they might seem to be with warm hands even if the temperature of the item is exactly the same.
