MyEncore error message,,,cannot open Encore Pro database !!!
Hi, I know this topic was posted a week ago,,several times ! But, the fix given is to install the newest version of MyEncore.. I have done this and still get same message! I just installed MyEncore version 1.5 Beta 4... I think it might be a problem that MyEncore is looking to find the database files in a certain location....Could someone please tell me what the path is that MyEncore is looking for ! Thanks !!!! Dan

Have you installed Encore Pro? What version?
(If it's an older version like 1.4, you will need an older version of MyEncore)
If Encore Pro is installed, have you downloaded data from your card?
(you need to so MyEncore can have a database to access)
If you installed Encore Pro v. 1.5i try installing this MyEncore v. 1.5B7

Thanks for reply !!!!! Yes i have Encore Pro 1.58 installed and it works perfectly!!!!! I also have MyEncore 1.5 installed, the new Beta version. However. it wont open because it cant find the location of the database files. I was hoping someone would give me the path that MyEncore uses to locate the files!!!! I'm not at all familiar as to how the SQL server functions. I do also have .net installed for MyEncore !!!! So the routine fix of matching the program versions isnt working for me ! Thanks ! Dan

I'm not using the newer versions of MyEncore and Encore Pro, but I'm assuming that MyEncore uses this path to the databases:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data
I also know from reading the posts back in November that there were issues about passwords and other things when installing these programs. You might go to the search function and do a "Search for author" for "Derek" and see what you can find.

Den - if he is using Pro 1.58, is that compatible with Myencore 1.57b?
I don't know much about software compatibility, just asking. I know Pro 1.5i is, but he is saying 1.58 -- maybe it isn't.

And Dan - Den directed you to a different version of Myencore. You might check if ver 1.5 beta is older than 1.57b. I think 1.57b is the very latest version. Go to the site Den gave you and try it.

You would think so. I'm on the 1.4.99 version of Encore Pro and the 1.03 version of MyEncore. Once everything went into the 1.5 versions, there were so many quirks that Derek was working to solve......I sort of lost track. AND, was glad that I stayed with the ones I had. I DO have all the various downloads from both sources, but as long as mine is working.....I don't need any more problems.

Hi Thanks for your help !!!! I did put Dens version on with no luck. Now I get a error message that it cant find resources !!!!! I of course uninstalled the other version first !!!! My path to EncorePro files is.........C Drive...Microsoft Sql Server\MSSQL$EncorePro\ Data. What I have been asking is what is your path to the data files. With a error message of cannot open, its probably saying it cant find the data files ! I have understood the issue of matching 1.5 EncorePro with 1.5 MyEncore. I have a different problem Im trying to solve ! thanks again !!! Dan

You may have the key !!!!!! The version of EncorePro I was able to download before the member took his site down,,,,was,,,1.5.82 !!!! You indicate that 1.5i,,,,works ! So I have 1.5.82 installed and its not working!!! If I could somehow get 1.5i,,,,,I would love to try it !!!!!! Thanks Dan !
