So I went to see a physical therapist today. I explained my symptoms and about it only hurting in the morning. He said he sees this situation all the time & it's an easy fix. I sure hope he's right because when it hurts it doesn't feel like something that would be an "easy fix." He gave me two stretches to do every hour for 2 weeks and told me to sleep on my stomach for two weeks, and after the 2 weeks I should be as good as new. If this does work I will feel like a moron for putting up with this pain for 8+ months and all I needed to do was stretch and change my sleep position. Keeping my fingers crossed. Basically he said I've inflamed a disc somewhere along the way and each night I irritate it by letting my back compress- its a daily cycle- and I'm not giving my body time to heal. Sleeping on my stomach is suppose to flex my spine the opposite way. After it gets better he said I could go back to supine sleep.
Anyway, having said all that, now my problem is sleeping on my stomach with my mask. I've never slept on my stomach much less with scuba gear on. I'm using the Quattro FX and it seems hard enough to lay on my side without it leaking. Any tips on using this mask while sleeping on your stomach.
Thanks
Derek
