Did u try Benadryl? Also, there is a tea made by Celestial Seasons that has a bear in a nightcap on the front picture. I think it is called Sleepytime or Nightcap or something. it is worth a try too, also melatonin from the drugstore or healthstore, over the counter. You can usually exchange your mask in the first 30 days so don't wait too long. I also have a lot of allergies, and I like the Swift FX. A lot of people tape their mouths for a few wks while they unlearn open mouth breathing at night. I would call my DME and ask for another mask, try one a little less obtrusive on your face like the Swift Fx or LX, or Aloha, or even Opus 300. Use a chinstrap or tape, but you must find something that works for you. Your very life and health depend on it. Some people NEVER get used to full face masks. I have an Innomed Hybrid as a back-up if my nose gets too congested with a cold or sinus infection. I tried the Liberty mask, (has smaller footprint) and did not like it. I took to the Swift FX immediately.

Keep on trying! You will get there!

I have tried nature made sleep.. and Unisom.. The Unisom made me groggy all day..

Last night, I made some progress.. I took 2 of the nature made sleep, and fell asleep with the mask around 11pm.. I woke up at midnight, went to the bathroom, and put the mask back on.. In the past, I wouldn't even try to put it back on. I fell back asleep until around 2:30am.. I went to the bathroom again, and did not put the mask back on.. Looking back, I wish I could have made myself at that moment put it back on.. When I woke up this AM, I did feel rested somewhat..

I did feel weird, with the double meds.. Will try tonight to go with just one..

I made a homemade hose hanger out of pvc pipe last night, it worked great..

I also picked up a headband from the sports section and used that over top of the mask, it allowed me to loosen up the strap a little and not leak.

I checked the machine this AM briefly and it showed that my AHI was 3.0.

New update..

I exchanged the mask for a Swift FX.. I sized it and got it as right as I could..

I took some melatonin and was getting ready to go lay down, when the phone rang.. Well needless to say, spent 45 mins helping someone with their travel planning..

That ended up waking me right up..

I had a very restless night, mask on and mask off.. Knowing I should leave it on, but realizing that I do have to work, so finally gave up and took it off and went to sleep..

UGG..

WOW..

Ok, well the Swift FX did not help..

I would sleep an hour or two, wake up and not be able to fall back asleep with the mask..

I fought with it, and even trid soem generic Ambien.. Did not work..

I missed the 30 day exchange, because I had the date wrong.

I reviewed and bought a Activa LT..

Last night was my first night with it..

I got 7.5hrs!! With and AHI of 1.8!!

Best of all, I woke up, went to the bathroom and fell asleep with after I put the mask back on!

I feel great, hopefully this wasnt a one time thing..

Hopefully this is the turning point for you. A mask that suits a person's face and preferences can really make difference.

As one who has struggled greatly with sleeping on the machine due to so far not finding what I feel is the right mask, your post gives me alot of hope that eventually, I will write a similar type post. I am so happy you found success and am rooting for you to have more great days like the one you wrote about.

Well, it has continued for the past couple of nights.

I got 6 hrs the past 2 nights!

I am still using a half an ambien, but am hoping to move away from that as well.

Keep up the hope, as I was so frustrated the past 2 months..
