6th anniversary

Post by Bookbear » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:23 am

Last night marked my 6th anniversary on cpap therapy. I owe a debt to this board and its wonderful members for their good humor and willingness to take the time to explain all the ins and outs of the world of cpaps. I am one of the lucky ones who adapted to cpap every early and without much trouble, but I know that in no small part this was due to the information and support I received here. Thanks, one and all!

Congrats!

I'm right behind 'ya.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

BookBear, questions:

1) On average how many hours have you slept nightly?
2) Have you experienced any Residual Excessive Sleepiness during the daytime?
3) Were there nights or parts of nights in which you slept without the machine?
4) How many sleep studies have you done during those years?

1. I sleep on average 8 hours, 40 min. I am pretty consistent in duration of sleep. If for some reason I sleep less than 8 hours one night (travel, etc.), I generally sleep a bit longer the next night, rather than napping the next day.
2. Very rarely. I feel the need of a nap maybe 4 or 5 times a year.
3. Never.
4. Only the original one that established the diagnosis, in April of 2006. It was a split night study, so it included the titration portion.

From one bear to another, Congratulations on 6 years Bookbear! I am still new to all this in comparison (I will only have 7 months on PAP therapy, in 7 more days), but each time I hear of someone with long term success it continues to strengthen my resolve that I will achieve similar results. For me, when it is all said and done, the benefits I can receive for all my efforts, far outweigh the negatives that must be dealt with to increase my chances of getting there.

Thanks! Yes, there are inconveniences. But you hit it right on the head: the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

Good luck!

Probably should call it re-birth day. I sure feel like I got my life back!

We showed up here very close to the same time. Good to hear that your treatment continues to go well. 2006 was a very good year.

Yes... a very good year! Our continued collective presence here is both a way of giving back to the digital community and a way of keeping in touch with changes in the world of CpapLand.
