integrate pulse ox/heart rate into Res Med/Sleepyhead

Post by Breathing » Fri May 25, 2012 8:00 pm

Is there a way to add a pulse oxymeter/heart rate monitor to my CPAP machine and have Sleepyhead add it to my data pull?

I have sleep apnea, but I don't snore. Never have. (I am also not male, obese or hypertensive)
I believe the screening criteria for sleep apnea is missing a LOT of people, who have a lot of unnecessary OSA related disease.

Easy to do. You need a Pulse Ox that saves data. SleepyHead does the best with the Contec 50D+ (which I have). Start pulse ox and CPAP at the same time. Download your CPAP data first to SleepyHead. Then download your pulse ox data. Bingo. You are done.

Some have tried Contec 50F and other models but have sometimes had problems downloading data.

The 50d+ is about $50 to $200 depending on where you get it. ResMed has a solution that lists for around $1000 or so however my parents DME had one that he sold me at a great price (which was still way above the 50D+ price)

Plus I don't think sleepyhead does the ResMed Spo2 yet (but the the programer should have a sample of the data)

I am using Sleepyhead software, and wanted to add a pulse ox to my reports. The software pop-up says that I need a CMS50x, I can find a CMS50DL or CMS50D, E and F and some other letters. Anybody know what the difference is between these (except for price) and which (less expensive one) will work with my Sleepyhead?

Thanks.

I have been using the CMS 50D Plus with excellent results. It downloads easily into Sleepyhead and the cost was good.

CMS50Dplus gives the most bang for the buck in my opinion. the difference in all the machines is something you can find in a google search. they all have different bells and whistles and prices, but all provide the same quality o2 and pulse data. you can find the CMS50Dplus and others at the pulse oximeter store. I and others have personally bought from them. pm for url.

OK. I got the DL and got the software installed as far as there is now a table on my daily data sheet for pulse ox information. BUT, I can't figure out how to get the info from the pulse ox to the sleepyhead. I have the USB cable hooked up. The sleepyhead says it can't see any data from any of the drives that I can see popping up. (D,E,F,H,I drives).... any suggestions? In other words, I can't get the sleepyhead to find the pulse ox. The screen on the pulse ox says the memory is full (I wore it last night), but I can't get to the data..

help!

I get headaches still I think from low O2, do you know how low does your O2 go at night to get headaches?
I started taking vitD for asthma and energy but no results yet. I'm taking 4500mg vit C also and looking into vit C injections
