SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
I continue to view my data in both ResScan and SleepyHead, because there are display methods in each one which I understand and can mentally digest better and quicker.
One of the features in SleepyHead which I really like a lot are the yellow popup rectangles which come up in Overview, when sliding and then hovering the cursor over one day at a time in any graph, e.g. Pressure, etc.
But the yellow popups disappear too fast for me to read all the contents, and I have to keep calling the same popup back up about three times to read all the numbers displayed.
Is there a way to keep the yellow rectangular popup on the screen until I finish reading it? I have of course tried just holding the cursor down but it goes away anyway by itself.
Thanks in advance to the more experienced SleepyHead users for any guidance here.
Regards, Nate

Re: SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
Huh, I hadn't even been aware it does that so I went and gave it a try. You're right. They disappear very fast and have some info that I would like to write down as well. I will keep an eye peeled here for any suggestions. That would be a good suggestion to make.

Re: SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
My pop-ups stay lit in overview. But in daily I have to hover and keep the mouse moving, slowly, and it stays lit.

Re: SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
my popups stay there for 2 seconds in winvista and win7. this would probably be an easy thing to fix in sleepyhead if it can be fixed and someone suggests it. it's probably a matter of changing the value from 2 to 10 seconds or something. trouble is we don't know when mark is going to start working on the software again.

I think Mark may be about to get back to SleepyHead. Meanwhile, I've tracked down the place where I think this is controlled. bool SummaryChart::mouseMoveEvent(QMouseEvent *event)
in gSummaryChart.cpp, there are a couple of lines of code of the form:
graph->ToolTip(z,x,y-15,2200);
The last argument, 2200, is the timeout. From your observation of about 2 seconds, I assume it is in milliseconds, and equivalent to 2.2 seconds. It would need to be changed to 10000 to get a 10 second timeout.

Re: SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
I am going to send Mark a message to this link asking if he could put this on his to-do list when he gets time to return to coding.
In the meantime, if somebody comes up with a solution - should would appreciate hearing about it.

Re: SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
He's already coded it, with a slider in the preferences to set how long you want the popups to stay.NateS wrote:I am going to send Mark a message to this link asking if he could put this on his to-do list when he gets time to return to coding.

Meanwhile, sliding the mouse up and down gently within the graph area keeps the popup visible. I think moving it resets the timer.

Re: SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
The change is checked into SleepyHead's GIT source code repository, but not released in executable form. I've built the latest from GIT, and used the slider to increase the timeout to 10 seconds. If you have software development skills, or can follow a fairly complicated set of instructions, you can do the same. See http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/s ... rom_sourcegreatunclebill wrote:if he's already coded it, how do we change it? i haven't seen any updates. is it not released yet?pats wrote:He's already coded it, with a slider in the preferences to set how long you want the popups to stay.

I think he is still working on debugging and testing other features he wants to include in the same release.

I'm in e-mail communication with Mark, and will be sending him patches for anything I find. I feel he should remain in control of deciding what to release when. After all, I'm a newcomer to SleepyHead.NateS wrote:Any one of you code-level members willing to tackle it during Mark's unavailability?

Re: SleepyHead Yellow PopUps on Overview Question
Sorry guys.. Life's still a little upside down for me. :/
I gotta get a new release out soon.
First I wanna finish hacking the PRS1 60 series format, and squish a few more annoying bugs.
