[quote="roztom"]I strill haven't gotten my Swift to work. The nasal pain is overwealming for me. Even with AYR gel, my nose goes on a Vendetta.

Tom,

Can you tell whether it is the mask pressure that bothers your nose, or the way the air blows? My nose has been very sensitive in the past, allergies, nose bleeds, etcl, but the Swift causes me NO nasal problems, so far. I wonder if I am just lucky or if it will take a while longer for problems to develop.

Have you tried a different size pillow?

My only problem with the Swift is leaks, which run substantially higher than the leaks you have reported. Maybe I am wearing it MUCH looser? My AHI is fine, so I am not worried about the leaks, tho.

I've tried it every way I can. I've got about 3 hours with it but the Nasal pain is too much, so far so I am just using my NAsal Mask, no problem.

I may try it sometime in the future after I get my APAP adjusted.

Which size pillow? I have found the larger the better. Smaller goes into the nose and hurts like hell! Looser is better too. Go real loose and then tighten to where the leaks are gone or not problematical.

This have been my experience YMMV.

I've got the large pillows and as loose as possible. It seems my sinuses are VERY sensitive and I get pain near my nares - so I just might not be compatible with the Swift. Also, my leaks are high with the Swift.

tom--i know what you mean. i've been able to use it off and on. it is better if you use straight vaseline in your nose rather than ayr gel, because i've noticed, at least when my nose is already burning, ayr gel can set it on fire. but i'm also concerned about prematurely yellowing the pills. someone said to use ayr gel for that rather than vaseline, but i don't know, when i remove the q-tip from my nose after using ayr gel, the cotton is yellow.

anyone try this secarius stuff?

do you think anyone will really think i have a coke nose? i think i have job interviews coming up, and i'd hate to lose the job over a cpap burn. or am i getting paranoid now?

thanks.

caroline

tom--also, if you can solve the burning problem, the size problem may go away. your nares may be inflamed, which would close down the space. i'm having a bit of same problem, opposite direction. when nose is clear and not burning, the small size fits fine. but today with my burned-out nose, the left one is too big.

Other than simple aesthetics what is the problem with yellow pillows? I can't say I care about what they look like if they are not deteriorated or unsanitary. I'm not wearing the out for the evening.

I'm not having any discoloration with the AYR gel. But I find even with my pressure down at 6-7 cm on the low side I'm still sensitive to the Swift. My sinuses just can't get with the program. With the Nasal Mask - no problem.

I'm just going to keep trying it a little at a time.
