What's this? (SleepyHead data)

Post by ekubaskie » Sat May 12, 2012 7:57 pm

Here is the "Changes to Prescription Settings" data from part of my SleepyHead "Statistics" tab:

First Last Days AHI Machine Mode Pr. Rel. EPAP IPAP PS
2/16/2012 5/11/2012 86 1.21 PRS1 Bi-Level Bi-Flex x3 7.00 10.00 3.00
2/15/2012 2/15/2012 1 0.82 PRS1 Bi-Level A-Flex x3 7.00 10.00 3.00
2/8/2012 2/14/2012 7 1.06 PRS1 Auto C-Flex x3 7.00 10.00

Pardon my F, but WTF? And while we're WTing - Auto? The box, by Philips Respironics, is a System One RemStar BiPAP Pro with Bi-Flex (650P).

I picked up the machine on 2/8, and had my follow-up appointment 2/27. During that time frame, the data card never left the machine, and the machine never left my bedroom. And I made no changes in settings during that time. Still haven't, except to cut out the ramp function. So as I see it, there should only be the top line, as:

First Last Days AHI Machine Mode Pr. Rel. EPAP IPAP PS
2/8/2012 5/11/2012 94 1.19 PRS1 Bi-Level Bi-Flex x3 7.00 10.00 3.00

The card never left your room, but the software reaches out of upgrades /updates. If something in an upgrade got messed up - it's happened in the past - then thousands of gremlins will be riding the bits from SourceFroge directly into your machine.

Welcome to the internet zone...

SleepyHead is Beta software. It is not without some minor problems.
There appears to be a little bug in this part of the reports.
I am using Auto mode and it is telling me straight bilevel mode. It also does not have my IPAP or EPAP pressure correct. We will have to wait for Mark to fix the bugs.

Encore doesn't even bother with this particular bit of data. You could use Encore if you wish to double check the other data if you wish.

Is there a modem attached to your machine? A little antenna on the back? I know my insurance company hired some other firm to check my compliance data via the modem. Is it possible your doctor is doing the same and adjusting your therapy in the same way?

[edit] I re-read your post and struck my question asking whether you diddled that yourself. A phone call to your doc should confirm he/she has the ability and exercised it. Or as others suggested it may be a bug. I vote for the doc but I'm ignorant of the true capabilities of the machine.

Nope, no modem or connection to anything other than the power adapter and the nose-hose. Oh, well, it does seem to be reporting the daily stuff well. A lot of hard work, greatly appreciated. Many thanks to Mark.

It's a SleepyHead bug. For some reason the change to DST has really messed with SH and ways that we hadn't realized.
This may be related and it may not or it could just be something we never noticed as being off. I didn't notice it until someone else mentioned it.
