Zeo mobile
Zeo mobile
I know that some people have mentioned they like their zeo desktop unit. Has anyone successfully tried the mobile unit. I have not been having good results with mine. I have had my first unit 7 days, Two out of them I had data for the complete night. The other five it stopped once or twice so I had big gaps. Their tech support suggested returning it and trying a new unit. It showed data for 1/3 of the night.
Has anyone had problems like this ?
Have any of you desktop users had the same problem or great success?
Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

Re: Zeo mobile
I am using a Zeo Bedside but got my wife the Zeo Mobile about 2 months ago. She has had pretty good luck with it and is using with an iPhone. For best results you need to put the iPhone in a dock so it remains powered to ensure full data capture.
Comparing the two units I am not as impressed with the Zeo Mobile. Although in theory it should be easier to use I find that overall it is not as well constructed as the Zeo Bedside. The dock for charging the headset does not align well with the contact on the head band and sometime shows charging when it is really not. There have been a couple of night my wife only got a partial night of data as the headset had failed to properly charge during the previous day. A charge should take only 3-4 hours assuming good contact and everything normal.
If you are not getting a full night's data It may also be possible that there is something that interferes with the Bluetooth RF link to the mobile used to transmit the data. If there is not enough charge causing the problem the app running on the phone should show that the charge was depleted.

Re: Zeo mobile
I had been using Zeo mobile for about 10 days. I tested it with both the Android app and the iPhone App and both worked well. I export 30-second data fron the web site and use Sleepyhead to show the detailed graph, along with the IntelliPAP data.
The charger dock is somehwat picky but not too much. Make sure the green light starts flashing after you place the headband.
I do get holes in the data from time to time (not too much). Based on position analysis obtained using SomnoPose on an iPhone this is related to my sleep position changes. It may be the headband is pushed aside when I side-sleep.
Try to tighten a bit the headband (but not too much).
The sleep stages mostly agree with what I know. The Zeo may be sometime confusing Wake and REM (there is a review in Amazon about it) but not the othersleep stages.
The automatic data upload is great, I wish my cpap had it too.
Overall I find the Zeo Mobile amazing product - especially for this price.

I tried the bedside unit last night. It showed gaps just like the mobile unit. The card shows data on it but zeo won't upload it.

Maybe cleaning the forhead with soap and water just before sleep will help?Bobby269 wrote:I tried the bedside unit last night. It showed gaps just like the mobile unit. The card shows data on it but zeo won't upload it.

Re: Zeo mobile
I must have been under a rock for some time - Just heard (read) about the ZEO the other day. I am intersted in getting one, but want to hear more about it from actual users. Is it really beneficial? I don't want to spend that much money on something that is not gogin to help or I am not going to use.

Re: Zeo mobile
Jay,
Thanks for the link. Interesting reading! I am thinking I may have to get one. Probably will wait a bit thought - things at work are a bit shakey and they are talking furloughs and/or lay-offs. So, no "unnecessary" expenses for me at the moment.
Again, thanks for the link. THat's what I love about this forum - people always willing to help other members! I wish more of real life would be like that.

Re: Zeo mobile
My Zeo Mobile did a strange thing last night. When I went to bed at 11pm, it said it was recording. It was on the second bar by the time I got all my other gear on and turned out the light. When I woke up, It only had data from 4 am to 8 am. Several other times it has stopped recording in the middle of the night. Only one of those nights said the unit ran out of charge...in spite of being on the charger all day. I have had it about 4 months.

Re: Zeo mobile
MyZeo data has been a a real benefit to me as I sort out all the reasons why I continue to have EDS despite good CPAP treatment for over 3 months. I was able to show my doctor the data and how I was getting NO REM or DEEP Sleep. She agreed to reduce my medication. Now I get about 2 hours of REM each night but still only 8-10 minutes of deep sleep. So more medication adjustments are needed. Without ZEO, I wouldn't have a clue nor would my doctor. ZEO was an inexpensive way for me to monitor my sleep architecture so we can solve my daytime sleepiness.
I use the bedside unit and have never had any lost data. I think the placement of the unit is important so there is no interference. I put an inverted storage crate with lots of holes over my CPAP because my cat keeps messing with it. Then I put a heavy telephone book on top so cat doesn't push the crate off. Last, I put the Zeo bedside unit on top of the phone book. So the bedside unit is higher than my head. My headband is in constant communication with the bedside unit no matter what my sleeping position.
I also let a friend borrow it for a week. He wanted to know what was going on as he keeps waking up all night. He had a sleep study and needs CPAP but hasn't accepted that fact yet. The ZEO helped him confirm how many times he was really waking up and how much sleep he was actually getting.
