Aura questions

Post by idahogal » Tue Mar 14, 2006 3:21 pm

Ok, got my new aura mask. I can tell I already am going to love this mask. I just have a few questions.

1) Does the rubberband trick fix leaks from the bottom of the nostrils?

2) Any suggestions on adjusting the headgear? I have it tightened as far as it will go and it is still too big. I am thinking I may be able to fix it with pantyhose but I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks

Susan

I've heard one woman say that she was able to modify her headgear smaller by using "bobby pins" - I would think big safety pins maybe would do a better job.

Yes, the rubber band trick brings the pillows up more snugly against the nares and reduces leaks.

The pantyhose trick really helps to secure all of it in place. You probably will want to get some of the foam makeup applicators I talked about. Available at most drug stores. I lightly tape a foam makeup applicator to the vertical hard piece that goes up between your brows - that cushions the brow if the piece touches your skin (which might happen if you use the pantyhose).

The pantyhose doesn't have to be tight. Put the Aura and headgear on, adjust as needed, and where it feels insecure (by the nosepiece or by the brow piece), tie the pantyhose strip around your head.

Be sure to protect from chaffing the nose.

Thank you so much. I am so grateful for your creativity. My brain just does not function like that. I blame it on being raised in a house full of boys! I am all excited now to try this and see how it works. Thanks again

You're welcome - we're all here to help each other.

I'm going camping and bass fishing for a few days - it's great to be retired instead of just tired.

Hope you have great success and well adjusted to the Aura by the time I get back.

Good Luck

What did those poor fish ever do to you?

Do you think fish can be hoseheads?

What would rainout be to a bass?

If you do use the headgear, you might find Aieomed's instructions helpful.
