F&P Icon Nova = bad sleep - so what should I get instead?

So after a week using the F&P Nova I feel like how I did before starting CPAP.
Here in NZ we have two systems, public - which only provides the F&P Nova - or buy it yourself. Our insurance companies do not cover cpap machines.

Anyway, I had chosen the public route so my sleep doctor lent me a fixed CPAP machine while i wait for my public appointment. Each night I wake up lots just like I did before CPAP.
The Nova had know way of working out what was going wrong which has put me off the public system now. I don't want to have to go in for expensive sleep studies when I could just have the machine tell me what is wrong.
Today I'd had enough and took the machine back and have rented a F&P Auto which does full reporting.
However the technician told me that the ResMed S9 is the best selling APAP machine, however it is going to cost (with humidified) around $2800.00 NZ dollars!!
The F&P Auto will cost around $2100.
Is the S9 worth the extra money?
Is there a site somewhere which compares models between manufacturers?

I spent 8 months using the F&P auto and have i just switched to the S9 auto. I hate to say it (i don't like ResMed), but the S9 is the much better machine. I can't explain it but i sleep much better with the S9 and it's on the same pressure range that the F&P was on - 8.5 to 11.5. I think that the F&P was 'chasing' events a lot more than the S9 does which is why i'm sleeping better now. Also, the SenseAwake feature on the F&P never seemed to work for me as it was always blowing a gale whenever i woke (it was definitely selected and turned on in the menu). Again, it could be my imagination but my mask doesn't leak as much with the S9. You get more data with the S9 but this is not a biggie for me as the F&P still gives you the main stats that you need - ahi, leaks etc. Because ResMed are greedy bastards, i'm ordering my own S9 (i'm currently hiring) from the USA as it's about half the price than here in Oz where ResMed are based. I'd be doing the same in NZ as i know that CPAP prices are extortionate there too.
