Hey folks,
Does you own a Mirage Quattro and how do you find it? I saw one on sale today at a CPAP supplier but I would love to hear some opinions before purchase. It LOOKS like a good mask..
thanks in advance..
How do you find your Mirage Quattro?
Re: How do you find your Mirage Quattro?
I have one as a backup mask to my Quattro FX. It's a very good mask but I prefer a less obtrusive mask without a forehead support bar. My biggest problem with the Mirage Quattro is that it puts pressure on my nose bridge and I wake up with a red mark on the bridge of my nose that takes awhile to go away. Others have written about the same issue with this mask. I think this happens if your nose is somewhat wide at the bridge. I got a custom made Padacheek liner combined with a Type B Nose Bridge Protector and that has helped quite a bit, but for my facial build, I still prefer the Quattro FX.Matty332 wrote:Hey folks,

Re: How do you find your Mirage Quattro?
I like mine. I was using the Resmed Ultra Full Face for several years and switched to the Quatro. The thing I like about the Quatro is there is an adjustment (22 different settings) that allows you to move the mask away from your nose bridge. You can adjust it while the mask is on and the CPAP is running.
I do two things:
1. While the CPAP is running lift the mask a little bit from your face all around. This lets the silicon mask billow out from the pressure and you get a good fit with minimal strap tension.
2. While the CPAP is running adjust the knob to move the mask away from your nose bridge until you start leaking. Then move it back one or two clicks and your all set.
So far this has been the best mask for me.
I have to run my CPAP at 12cm H2O all the time.
Everyone has a different face and for me this mask works the best.

If you need a Full Face Mask, it's a good choice.

Re: How do you find your Mirage Quattro?
I've got one and ended up reverting to the Nasal mask because I just could not get the leaks under control.
One thing I can say for sure... is that sizing is critical with this mask. Crapria gave me a Large without even having fitted me and I really needed a medium. After weeks of fighting, I ended up getting the medium.
It was "better".... but not good. The leaks were less, but not gone.
Forum members seem to have the same experiences, and the people who got the leaks under control, seem to like the mask.
But I beleive it is the same no matter what mask you get, some work great for some people and not so good for others.
The specific contours of your face seem to make a big difference in the mask fit.

I'd just add that if it starts to be a literal pain-in-the-neck, then either the straps are too tight or you need a new cushion.
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!
Prescribed APAP range - 6-10 cm/H2O, titrated at 8.
Current range - 9.0-11.5 cm/H2O - still searching for the magic "zero night" but averaging 2.2 AHI

Re: How do you find your Mirage Quattro?
Terrible for me, unable to stop the enormous leaks. I use the Ultra Mirage Full face when I need a FFM, it works way better than the Quattro (for me).
