Re: Sleepweaver leak rate
I love the new sleepweaver mask. I liked the old one but the new one is a big improvement over the old one. If you tighten the straps too much it leaks more. Adjust it during the day before you go to bed so you can take your time and get the right fit. The headgear and seal are way better. With the old one I had to use an eye mask but not with the new one. Just don't over tighten the straps.

I did try the tips about adjusting the mask a little to the left, then a little to the right after it's already on. It feels like there is a slight leak out towards the bottom/sides of the mask. I guess I'm concerned that if I have a leak rate at .34, then maybe I'm not getting enough pressure due to leakage? I'm really not sure when one needs to worry about that? I know that the less it leaks, the better, but what is too much?
I'm also having an issue with the air feeling cold. I'm super sensitive to cool air, I hate it! Does this bother anyone else? How can I warm up that air and use this mask?
Outside of those two complaints, I do like the mask! I like that it is comfy, and that it feels more like a scarf than like being smothered by a plastic cup. And I think it will be easier to breathe with when I have a cold, and cannot use my nasal pillow mask. (You'll hate hearing this: when my nostrils are congested, I go without cpap, because I cannot get enough air through the pillows, and I haven't found a non-pillow mask that is comfortable enough to allow me to fall asleep with.)
So please, please help me troubleshoot this Sleepweaver! Please?!

All in Knots
Resurecting last month's post, particularly regarding humidity and SW mask. It seems to me that with the larger leak rate, SW requires more humidity than hard masks do. As for the leak rate being too much, I had a nice surprise at my redo sleep study May 17th. the SleepWeaver with the chin strap and Bruxism nightguard did not leak enough to get me stuffed into a FFM by the self-admitted "I do NOT like change" technician. I choose to infer this means the SW leak rate is acceptable. .
That is hopeful, as I was really expecting to be told I would have to go the FFM route. I'm champing at the bit wanting to know what the data says about leak rates, and all the apnea details. My original sleep study was a flop, cause I never went to sleep. Anyway, hope you're finding better success with the SleepWeaver. Try more humidity; maybe even humidify the room with a room unit. Let us know how it's going.

Re: Sleepweaver leak rate
I also change my settings when using the SW mask. I turn the humidity up (you'll need to experiment to see what works for you) and also the temperature with this mask only. With nasal pillows, I prefer lower humidity and temp.
