Leak!!
Need some exp. advice here. What is the % of leak loss that is ok.I've been looking at my result's every morning.I've had a couple night's 0% loss. But, most of the time. I'm loosing between .06-13 %.Been using the chin strap. Last night was 0 ahi in 5 hours.with a leak loss of 13 ll.Usually my ahi is running about .6 event's a hour..I was looking at my last print -out & it show's anything under 25 is ok.Just so the Ahi stay's down.Just wondering from other's.Thank's
Re: Leak!!
so you're talking unintentional leak?
The reason that I'm asking is that other machines just report leaks... which include both intentional and unintentional. Resmed seems to split them up.
For unintentional it should be as low as possible... and you should as Robysue puts it have a green smiley face.

Re: Leak!!
ResMed's line in the sand where they say that the therapy and ability to sense events could be impaired is at 24 L/min.
Are you getting your leak number off the screen on the machine? Or are you using the software?
I prefer the software because it lets me see when and how bad my leaks are at a glance. If I stay below the red line at 24 L/min for the bulk of the night I consider that good enough. Short lived spikes to the 24L/min line or above I don't worry about as long as they aren't prolonged and don't disturb my sleep.
Any leak (even if small) needs to be worked on if it wakes you up. We don't want wake ups.

I'm just pulling of machine.Does have a green smiley face.I was just wondering.Last time the doc. read my card he ask'd about the leaking.I can't stand the full face.I love the mirage nasal.I have since started using chin strap.couple night's I have noticed 0 leakage. But, I do in the middle of the night have to scratch my nose that maybe where it is coming from.Seal is alway's good.So I quess such little air leak is from me moving it around.

Re: Leak!!
I have an example of a recent really ugly leak line (shown on a report).
Mr Red Frowny face doesn't show up until leaks exceed the 24 L/min line for 30% of the night.
Even with my ugly night....I was well short of the 30%.
You might want to get the software so you can evaluate the leak line better. Going by a number can be misleading and sure doesn't tell the whole story.
Here is a link to my comments about mine and I have posted the reports...easy to see.
Examples with SleepyHead and ResScan software both.

Re: Leak!!
Look in my signature line at the bottom left of this post..I have Sleepyhead links there..read them all.Kenneth P. wrote: where is the best place to buy the software???
Don't have to pay for it at all. You can make a small donation to the developer of the software if you want to and are able to. There is a link on the website. Under no obligation though.
ResScan...is also free. Just have to know where to look.
Forum member Uncle_Bob has it in his signature line. It is a bit more complicated for first time users.

There is a tutorial on how to manage ResScan...for sure watch it.
