Encore Pro 1.6i Released - 3/9/06

Post by SleepDaddy » Sat Mar 11, 2006 8:21 am

I don't know if this is old news, but the Respironics Software Download Site has posted download link for Encore Pro 1.6i.

The problem is, it has a message that indicates it is only available from a "controlled site".
Note: This is now only available via the Controlled Software site. Click on the download link to access the controlled software site.
When you follow the link you are prompted to include you name, phone number, account number, and zip code. Without a valid "Account Number" access to the download is denied. It appears the days of free Encore Pro Software downloads may have come to an end.

Does anyone have a link for the free version? I just "upgraded" my ResMed S-8 for a RemStar Auto w/C-flex (for an extra $200. Ouch!! and that was after an original $260 upcharge to get the Resmed instead of their cheapest machine.) just so that I can better monitor my own therapy. I've ordered the Two-Factor reader but I can't seem to find the free vesion of this software anywhere. Help please!

Jimm, I might still have an active link to the free download. I'll check it out and send you a PM later.

Jimm,

When you compare the cost of the software ($99.00) to repeated visits to the doctor, it's CHEAP.

It was only because I was still within the 30 day "customer satisfaction" window. Since the cost between the two machines on CPAP.com is less than $100, I'm not sure how "lucky" I am. Oh well, I'm just glad I found this forum in time to still do the upgrade.

Encore Pro vs 1.6 is only needed if you are going to use the New M Series machines from Respironics. This version is to accomodate the M Series.

To date, this is my understanding.

Thanks for that information Ted. Does the intro to the new M series Auto mean that the REMstar is going to be discontinued soon

CRASAH Fried power supply. Burnt motherboard. Video card fan died, stuck and shorted out everything. Even (had) two mirrored hard drives that act dead.

The good news is I am now running XP. Can I also get a link. I do have the older resmed software on the disc some where but wanted the latest version of MyEncore.

Titrator:

So do you have to have version 1.6 to download data from the new M series machines?

I am happy with my current Encore Pro/MyEncore setup, but would like to get the new machine once the early adopters wring out all the bugs.

Wouldn't make the switch if I couldn't have the software needed to monitor own progress via Encore Pro.

I do believe you will need to have Encore Pro 1.6 to be able to download from any M Series machine.

As far as other details, like if other machines will be retired, I do not know. I have no details as of yet.

That would be a good reason not to upgrade to "M", not that size matters to me.

I agree, if Respironics won't allow you to get Encore Pro 1.6 leagally, that will be a significant deterrent to upgraders who want to monitor their progress.

It seems like there is always some barrier being erected to keep the patient from managing his/her Sleep Apnea affliction.

You sure got to want to improve your condition to stay with this process.
