Post by RobertinTX » Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:10 am

I am curious as to the difference between the Bi PAP with C flex and an APAP or the Remaster auto with C flex.
I reading everything it seems they basically to the same things.
Can someone please explain the differences.

Bi-PAP machine generally has a greater range of relief settings than a Cflex machine. Cflex only has 3 fixed relief settings roughly corresponding to 1cm pressure relief each. To compare with your Bi-PAP, if your at 17cm pressure on IPAP (inhale) you can have a EPAP (exhale) pressure setting of 13cm or a 4cm spread or 17/13cm. In addition there is rise times and other parameters on the bi-pap that don't exist on the cflex machines. On a Cflex machine, if you took that same 17cm pressure the most you could expect on relief is a 17/14cm setting by comparison.

Note: Cflex responds to your particular breathing pattern, it may offer more than the advertised relief based upon your particular breathing pattern.
