Devilbiss--2 new masks!

Post by chunkyfrog » Thu Mar 15, 2012 1:25 pm

The Joyce silkgel full face and nasal masks are finally available in the United States!
I had seen these on the Weinmann site(Germany), but finally we can get them here.
Thanks to Cpap.com and Devilbiss!
--just saw it today.

O.K. now I am sufficently confused, first Devilbiss says they make the Aloha, then Innomed, now RespCare, who makes the Aloha? Also, my DME says he can't get it. Innomed says hasn't been distributed to VA. DME's yet. Who is telling the truth here. I need one and want my insurance to pay for it...

the box says it's manufactured by Respcare, that's all I know.Develbless might be the dealer. My Dme said it wasn't out yet but I bought one online. one online was sold out already but they have them here.

Silkgel is a trademark of Weinmann in Germany.
The product page list Devilbiss as the company offering it there.
They could have a license to make it; or just be branding it for sale in the U.S.
I'm sure the FDA got their bite. --for the approval.

DeVilbiss is the distributor of both the EasyFit and EasyFit SilkGel mask lines. DeVilbiss is also a distributor of the new Aloha.

I could go for one of those! (Shame they don't have a smilie for tongue-in-cheek comments!).

Why are these so cheap? I ordered an Aloha and it shipped today. I wish I had known about this silk gel because now I want that one but it is $17. delivery to Canada.

Are the prices low because they are new and might increase soon or should I bite the bullet and just pay delivery charge again?

I'm also curious about how the silk gel would compare with the Resmed softgel. Does anyone have an opinion on devilbis vs. resmed? thanks.

Devilbiss has lower prices than some other companies--hopefully being competitive enough to drive the prices down all over.
I ordered the silk gel full face today, because I noticed the return insurance jumped 4 bucks since yesterday.

I am going to order one as well, the Quattro Mirage has the bridge of my nose torn up and hopefully this will be better.

Well, I received my Silkgel ff and wore it last night, hoping it would be my new favorite full face.
This morning--AHI 4.0; Leak 111+---OMG!
If I can't get this to work better, back it goes (whine)
I can only tighten it up so much as the gel is quite a bit stiffer and harder than on my Comfortgel.
Otherwise, a beautifully designed mask. Bad fit not their fault--either me or my ancestors.
--Maybe a mask liner. . .
A lovely mask--I really want to keep it.

Appreciate the feed back. It is so nice to be able to come here for opinions before purchasing.

I think FF masks often have more problems with seal than nasal but since you mention the cushion is not as soft as the others I am now hesitating on ordering the nasal version of what you got.

Lately I have had problems with leaks with my softgel (couple months old) so I think this devilbis might be worse. It does look like a nice sturdy design though and it also looks like the headgear might stay in place better than my Resmed. The Resmed rides up over the top of my head no matter whether it is loose or tight. It is very frustrating. The Devilibs looks like it would stay in place.

Will wait to hear what you think after a couple more tries.
