My new Aloha's arrived

Post by neverbetter » Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:51 pm

My first reaction to this system is how light it feels. It feels like it would weight less than an ounce. How did they do that? Second, I was expecting super thin pillows like the Hybrid and these look different. There are two places to adjust it on the top of the head. Two slots. I haven't seen that before. The ball and swivel looks like a great design. The tusk looking things allow for a lot of adjustment. It has groves, but they look like they are there only for measurement because you can slide the tusks up and down without it catching on anything. I'm curious why they included the soft wraps. When I put it on my head for a minute to get the feel, it doesn't feel like you would need them. I guess it's nice they come with. Tonight I will know for sure when I go to bed. I don't think I'll need a lot of adjusting just from the overall feel when I pulled it on my head but it's a whole different ball game with the machine on (expectantly at my pressure).
It comes in a long box without the canvas bag you would expect to see from the respcare line. probably a cost saving measure...who cares, you don't wear the bag. Wish me luck!

Good Luck and can't wait to hear how it goes!!

Told my DME about this one last week, and they're going to check it out and probably order some, so after my new SleepWeaver next month, the Aloha might be next on the list.

Cheers,
xena

OK...after my first night here's what I can add. It took me all of 6 minutes to find my ideal adjustment as I didn't bother trying both slats. It came already set on the top slat so I just kept it there and it was fine.I took off the black velvet cloth things cause I didn't need them. They velcro on or off. You do not need to tighten this mask tightly, folks. Unlike other pillows on the market, this one truly seals like nothing you have ever used. I had one leak last night which I quickly fixed, no problem. My pressure never went above 16 which is good for me and I only had to adjust it that one time after I got in bed. I'm a stomach sleeper and I didn't have the hose over my head last night. I don't know if I'm ready to give up my Hybrid for a pillow only mask, even this one as good as it is because I like having the option of opening my mouth (I hardly ever do, but I want the option). I guess it's like having a Ferrari ( I don't) that you never drive over 60mph...but know you could do 160...something like that. The Aloha weighs nothing. I mean it. It's as light as paper and I have no idea how they do that. The material is sturdy. The mask is sturdy, the prong things are very strong. I tried to bend it to see if it would snap for the heck of it and it doesn't. Feels pretty much unbreakable and is light as a feather on your face, but sturdy with a great seal. Here's the really good part...are you ready....drum roll....Alright....It's quieter than the Swifts!! Even high pressure all I could hear was the machine (now a Respironics PR System One Auto).Think I'm using this new puppy tonight. It's my new toy and I'm happy!

Nothing like a good "busting". So what you're saying is, her feedback might be biased?!?!?!!

No question about the CEO of Mergenet Solutions, Inc. at MergeNet Solution being named Shara Hernandez, but where is your proof that neverbetter is Shara Hernandez?

And which part of neverbetter's description of the Aloha do you find to be false or misleading?

Nearly everyone of us on cpaptalk who has tried it has posted similar favorable reviews.
