On a trip we are going to use small bottle of spring water and use our tiny hiking water filter (use a small bottle of water available in most hotels, rest areas, etc) screw on the filter with its spout, then squeeze to put the filtered water into the cpap. It is a Sawyer Mini water filtration system and removes bacteria, protozoa, and cysts. A lot of hikers use this on long hikes to filter out Giardia lamblia and other microscopic bacteria, protozoa, and cysts. If using tap water (dirty), you can use the "dirty bag" that comes with the Sawyer, put the tap water into that, screw on the little sawyer filter and squeeze the clean water into the c pap.

I, personally, do my best not to breath in ANY water.... tend to do a lot of choking and coughing afterwards whenever that happens.
