Interestingly, the ResMed site
http://www.resmed.com/au/service_and_su ... c=patients
says:
Respironics seems to take the "distilled water" position, but the rationale is that the minerals can damage components.If you have a standard humidifier tub, it is recommended that you use distilled or deionized water. If you have a cleanable tub, tap water is fine for everyday use.
"IMHO":
- If the hospital water supply was contaminated with Legionella, it would be closed down and the lead story on Yahoo TODAY because ALL the patients in that hospital would be at risk;
- If Mike and the sleep tech do not pass the information to the CDC YESTERDAY then they are totally irresponsible;
- TS, distilled water is cheap. Admittedly, even tho the risk is statistically remote why risk it;
- TS2, I mean, some people NEVER clean ANYTHING in their machines and are healthy as a raccoon. Life ain't fair.
