I use a humidity setting of 1 out of 5 (low). The problem occurs when my nose in clear not stuffy. I have done everything short of surgery for my congestion and it does not work accept for Afrin which should not be used too often.
You have congestion when your nose is clear not stuffy? I thought the definition of congested was 'stuffy nose'??

Which surgery are you referring to?

Do you have a deviated septum? Enlarged turbinates?

Have you had the airway scoped via the nasal passages by a trusted ENT?

I don't think my former waking every few minutes was due to the same causes as yours. Mine was from the time my head hit the pillow and 2 causes were identified - #1 Limb movements, and #2 Misuse of ramp feature. These days in the morning as it nears time to wake up I do seem to briefly wake up over and over. Not sure why I do, but it doesn't bother me as it feels like I'm being gently gradually woke up, and that's fine with me as it's no fun to wake abruptly from a sound sleep. Now, if it interfered substantially with the length of my sleep time I'd feel differently. I don't use a clock as I spent too many years clock watching the clock through my nights of erratic sleep and I just don't want to do that any more.

But about the congestion - I see you are using a nasal mask. When I tried them, they must not have fit properly because the pressure on the sides of the bridge of my nose cut off air flow through the sinuses and caused what felt like swelling and obstruction more so than congestion as there was no drainage. Have you tried a nasal pillows style mask to see if the congestion still happens?
