Considering the limited relationship the two of you have, I probably wouldn't take too many liberties publically. I wouldn't state anything to attack her other FB friend, but I'd probably feel compelled to give a counter view, something like...

Hope your sleep study gives you the answers you seek. Treating a sleep disorder can be life changing - even life saving.

As others have said, it depends how public you want to be about yourself how you handle it.

I was diagnosed with SA when I had surgery which resulted in the the sleep study. I was very nervous about the sleep study but one of my friends on FB had posted about his diagnosis and after many messages back and forth I went to my sleep study feeling good about the diagnosis and knew what to expect. I say to talk to your friend. My FB friend was a real life saver for me!

I dreaded going to a sleep study, too. But it wasn't that bad. I might address that, first. It's scary to sleep in front of strangers but thankfully, the people at my sleep study were wonderful and kind.

Otherwise ... yes, speak up. You can always be gentle about it. Suggesting to someone with an apnea problem to not go with a mask if it's suggested is foolish of that person. So you have a moral obligation to say something. I would.

Good luck!
Elisabeth

This was just posted by a 60-year old female who was a neighbor of mine about 40 years ago and I have not seen nor spoken to her during this 40 years. We have FB messaged several times and we still own adjacent properties where we are absentee landlords and have messaged about packaging them to sell for commercial development some years down the road.
On my way to the sleep center. Lord I dread this!
One of the comments from one of her male FB friends (I do not know him) is:
Praying for you xxxxx. Don't let them put you on one of those machines too quick. There are a lot that will do it too.
Should I stick my nose into this? PM or post comment?

Everyone of you who said I should post is wrong! hahaha

All I had to do was wait an hour and there were half a dozen CPAPers posting encouragement and excellent information about their good experience with CPAP or their spouse's good experience with CPAP. That first negative dude was just flat drowned out and did not comment again. From what some of those people posted I would say they are experienced cpaptalk members. Anyone want to confess?

The friend checked into the sleep lab, read the comments, and posted back her thanks for the words of encouragement.

I will follow up with her soon to make sure she knows about "bricks" and "software" and "lying DMEs". hahaha

Thanks for all the encouragement you gave me. If it had been necessary for me to comment I would have felt good about it because of what you posted here.
