I could stay WELL! Grrrr! I meann seriously! I have had more colds since starting cpap last yr then every before! I get tonsillitis a couple times a yr (I can have them out if I choose to, just have been too chicken and so like back on the 13th of Feb (also my bday of all days) I started with that nasty stomahc mess that is going around here like CRAZY. I had that for a week and of course the air from the cpap didn't help the nausea at all. I get well for a week and now have the darn regular flu and tonsillitis! I mean can't a girl get a break!
I am still having issues with marks being left on my face by the CC. I LOVE that mask though and hate to give it up. I have been trying different things to try and help with the marks but its not working My FF mask I have to use with my colds and all drives me NUTS! I finally found a solution for my dry chapped lips though with the FF mask so thats a good thing. I switch on and off with the Activa and Swift if I HAVE to, the Activa is great about leaks and pretty comfy but the pulsing feelign sometimes freaks me out and I have to take it off. The swift well I just about suffocated myself twice now cause I roll over oni my stomach and will wake up dizzy cause the air vents are covered!
I adjusted sooooo well to CPAP in the beginning but now it seems to be a NIGHTMARE! I diff can't sleep without it so I put up a good fight but ohhh sometimes what I would do to just be able to lay down and sleep with nothing strapped to my face! (I know, we all would just having a poor poor pitiful me moment here
I go to my sleep doc on Thursday so we shall see what she has to say. I am hoping to get to try some masks there since they have a bunch and sterilize them and all that good stuff and maybe find another mask. I also think my pressure might need to be up'd and if so I am hoping she will not torture me with a sleep study (since I had two before that were nightmares) and that she will just send me home with an APAP machine for a few days to check my pressure level.
Well, I guess back to attempt to fight the FF mask to get a little rest...
CPAP would be alot easier if...

Possible mask solution
Hi MissAmethyst
I had terrible issues with head gear straps marking my face and neck up. I did some investigating and found an answer to my prayers. CPAPPro. It uses an oral mouthpiece (takes a little bit of getting used to), nasal pillows and best of all, no straps! As for getting sick, I seem to get healthier faster than I used to. The pressure seems to really keep my sinuses cleared and open.

My mask and humidifier were not listed. I use the CPAP Pro mask, and the Fisher & Paykel HC150 humidifier

Sapphiyre, can you sleep pn your side well with CPAP Pro? It looks awesome! I have never seen that before and I LOVE the tubing cause its made like the tubing for the CC...I doubt thought that my DME carries this one as it is kinda expensive and I am not forking out that kinda money I just can't afford to. I would love to hear from anyone else who has used that mask. I am also looking at the I believe its the Nasal Air 2? But gotta find out which ones if any I am liking my DME carries...
Well, I'm physically disabled from birth and I know my Medicare paid like 80% of it and my State Assistance (Medicaid) paid the last 20%. As for sleeping on my side, yes, no problems. The way it "snaps" onto your upper teeth it's very comfortable once you're used to having something in your mouth. The first couple nights I drooled a bit more than normal, but that has cleared up completely and didn't take long if I recall. I've been using this mask since about 2004. I still love it! It's very adjustable too.
