Some of the pet carriers are even kind of pretty. Best of all they will keep pets from playing with the buttons or damaging the machine!

LOL, my dog likes mine. She has always licked the air when you blow in her face. She'll hop in bed on the weekend and get where the vent is and lick the air. LOL

Last night night I got up to let the cat our (my partner usually does it) and my dog started running away from me and finally just sat on the other side of the room and stared at me. I finally came out of my sleepy fog enough to realize that my mask was scaring him. Poor doggy. Has this ever happened to you?

Well, after reading that, I'm glad that I take my mask off. It's nasal pillows and slips on and off easily. Of course, the chin strap would be a tad odd but possibly not as odd as a hose on a mask hanging off my face.

Idea is still usable. Use a cardboard box big enough to cover but cut out a section where the vent is and then a section for the hose to escape. That would be ample "fresh air".
VikingGnome wrote:I'm going to have to figure out how to keep her away from it. I thought of covering it with a box but then realized that the machine needs to take in fresh air. I probably just need to build something that hovers over the machine but doesn't block front/back or controls. Something like an inverted bookholder.

I had a poodle we should have named Taz. I decided if I ever got another puppy, I wouldn't pick the playful one. Snowball ate tissue, etc and a few hard things. We swear she at the remote. It disappeared one day and it was never found!!!

We were concerned about him but he seemed to suffer no ill effects and we assumed they were passing. Then one day, knuckle head me left the mask out and the bedroom door open. We walked in to find the crazy one on the bed chewing on the remnants of Swift headgear and a few pieces of those hard plastic cheek support things. The mangled part that the pillow support cushion fits into and some chewed up hose was hanging from the tubing. Most of the neoprene headgear, the cushion, and the Breeze inserts were gone. Vanished. Mind you this happened in about two minutes, tops.

After reading these pet stories, I consider myself very grateful that the family dog has ignored my xpap, hose and mask.
He's more interested in me and my husband. I don't have any humorous stories to share. However just an idea or two.

Mask: Tuck the mask under pillow, or put it in a pouch (kinda like ResMed pouch that is included with their masks), or in a plastic bag.

My 2 cents.

I have a hook on the wall to hold masks, and a shoe organizer on the closet door(everything BUT shoes)
I also have the gargoyle (halloween decoration) that petrifies the dog.
If he starts showing a little less fear, I give it a nudge so he can see it move.

A small laundry basket turned upside down will cover your CPAP machine and still let it breathe.
