Re: Finally
The 2 most commonly dispensed bilevel auto machines are the ResMed S9 VPAP Auto BiLevel and the PR S1 BiPap Auto. Assuming regular BiPap (bilevel) machines and not the ASV models.
Both are excellent machines and full data. Nothing really needs to be demanded except make sure that you get the latest technology machine and not the older technology (S8 or M series models).
I recently had the opportunity to use a S9 VPAP Auto to compare with my PR S1 BiPap Auto. Both are superb machines. They go about things a bit differently in terms of pressure support but then end result was the same being both machines were extremely comfortable and both gave me excellent results.
The S9 VPAP has the optional heated hose that the PR S1 BiPap doesn't. Not a deal breaker though. I use a stand alone heated hose and do quite well. Of the 2...the VPAP might be a teeny, tiny bit more quiet when comparing blower noise. I had my husband listen while I used both and he says the difference is very, very minimal and he had to strain to hear both.
There is software easily available for either brand. When you get a "Auto" BiLevel machine there is no "brick" model that they can sneak in that won't offer full data.
Both brands have a couple of pros and cons the other machine doesn't have but none that make one machine hugely superior over the other.
I have the PR S1 BiPap Auto in my profile now. You can click on the link to see some of its features.
Here is the link for similar machine in ResMed....https://www.cpap.com/productpage/S9-VPA ... chine.html
Now if you are getting the bilevel machine in the ASV models of other brand.. We have to have a different discussion and bring JohnBFisher in to help explain the difference. They also have pros and cons and again...just make sure latest technology and not older technology machines.
