Hello...
First of...let me say that if it were not for this site....I would never have know what options I had. I've been using CPAP for about 1 month now. The default mask I received was the Respironics Comfort Select. After a few uses, I had a huge, infected, sore on the bridge of my nose.... The only way I could get the mask to seal was to tighten it to the point of insanity...
After reading though a number of posts here..and doing a little side-research..I settled on the Swift... It should be here tomorrow!!!!
The few nights that I did use the Respironics....I slept better than I had in years..so I'm anxious to get back on the horse!
Ordered my Swift today!

be sure to pick up some "nose lube" for getting used to the Swift. That can be AYR gel or Castor oil.
And take some time to adjust the straps so that it has minimal pressure on your nares but still seals. Also, play around with rotating the barrel a tiny bit back and forth for best comfort.
This is a very simple interface, but DOES take some careful "dialing in".
And make sure the exhaust isn't blowing right up against anything, or it will be noisy.

I never used any gel. I did use the Medium pillows first, thinking that I was medium. Caused some irritation inside my nose. I switched to the Large pillows and that was it. No more problems. No gel. No lube. It just works.

No gel for me either. My humifier is set at 5 but I haven't had any real problems since the first day after the first night with the mask. Been using it about two weeks now.n I too had that comfort Gel. It sucked. err umm I mean blew- everywhere but in my nose!!!! I am sooo glad to have gotten rid of the bullseye on my forehead and the hideous sore on the bridge of my nose. I can't believe I didn't change it sooner. Over a year before I followed up on it.
Here's to good sleeping!!!

You may be interested in reading this, too. Good luck with the Swift. It is a great mask. No bells or whistles, but does the job, all at 2 oz. total weight. And you can even wear your glasses with it on!

Last night was the first night. I had no real trouble getting the Swift to seal properly..just a few minor adjustments (using large pillow size). Seemed pretty comfy through the whole night as well, even at top pressure (12).
No sure throat this morning, so the humidifier did it's job. I did have one really stuffy nostril...but I have allergies anyway..so I'm not too quick to blame the Swift for that. I've got a couple of red/irritated areas at the base of my nose/nostrils...but I figure that's where I can hone in w/ the AYR gel.....
