My insurance forbids such a thing, so make sure yours allows this.SleepyInIndy wrote:since the doctor had to write a perscription for the first DME, they should be able to provide a copy of that perscription. You can then take that script to any DME you choose. That should not require a new sleep study nor for the original sleep study to be provided to another DME.

Keep in mind, no matter who you choose, they will want a copy of your sleep study AND your prescription. It sounds as if maybe your doc is a Primary and may not be familiar with the info which is required on one. For cpap it will need one pressure, for an auto pap it will need a min. & max. pressure.Cotay wrote:You know...I hadn't considered that either. Thanks!BlackSpinner wrote:In the USA you have right to a copy of your medical records. They MUST give it to you if you request it. They can charge you by the page for it but they must give it to you.
Neither is a big deal as YOU can learn how to set the pressures for your needs, right here on the BEST forum on the planet.
Good Luck

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Two thumbs up for SleepQuest. After hearing my coworkers' horror stories with Apria when I first got diagnosed, SleepQuest is the complete opposite -- almost bend-over-backwards helpful.Cotay wrote:Does anyone have any feedback on SleepQuest in California?
I have BCBS of Texas for insurance....do any folks in Texas have a local DME they recommend? Maybe I can be sure to find one in-network if it's in TX.
