Question about Mask Replacement

I also was going to check with my HR person, but she was out sick, so I talked to my DME. My DME is one of the rare responsive DMEs, as they are a non-profit connected with one of the larger hospitals in town.

I'm not sure about other DMEs, but mine deals only with XPAP equipment and supplies. I had another one to begin with but my neuro was so mad with their lack of service she asked me if I'd change - glad I did!

My DME posts a 'general' replacement schedule on the wall of their storefronts as a guide, with the caveat that some insurance companies may vary their replacement coverage.

Regardless of this notice, before they provide me with my replacement pillows etc., they access my file in their system which immediately shows them whether I'm eligible for these replacements or not.

I guess not all DMEs are like this?

I cut my tabs off with no apparent problems. When you cut the tab off, there's a little area where the layers aren't sealed together anymore, so there might be some minor amount of extra particles getting through, but I'm not the least bit concerned about that. Especially since the tabbed filters don't really seal up that snugly in that area with the tab attached, and the fine filter is optional anyway.

My trimmed filters get dirty at the "normal" rate, so they must be doing something.
