The rant is really over an arrogant troll.

What should have happened a year ago at the 30 day follow-up is this.
Acknowledge that the patient can look at their AHI and tell them if it goes higher or you feel you aren't sleeping as well or your symptoms are returning, call us and we will get you an appointment.
Instead of, "See you in a year."
Once again I'm thankful for this forum.
It's quite profitable for the health care industry to schedule when they want to see you instead of when you need to see them. That's why they like to induce pregnancies.

Back in 2008 I had 2 sleep studies.

After that the clinic told me I could forgo the appointment with the sleep doctor
and head straight to the DME.

I told them I wanted to see the sleep doctor. They told me the sleep doctor would
not see me due to some administrative issue. Nice.

I head to the DME, being blithely ignorant of the whole process, hoping to get some
further insight and assistance. Nope, they claim to provide assistance but are really
only interested in selling equipment at double the online cost.

Started on therapy. Went online and discovered this forum... did a lot of reading,
inquiries and experimenting on my own. Finally tuned everything in without the
assistance of the DME or sleep doctor.

Yep, I too was thankful to find the forum and cpap.com

Completely agree, was told next to nothing about my Complex Apnea Problem, what to expect, anything about my ASV machine, nothing. The help I did receive was from RT's, and not the Sleep Dr.
The people here on the forum answered and helped tremendously, with out this place, I think I would have given up.
