That "I can't breathe" feeling
Re: That "I can't breathe" feeling
I have to admit that once in a while I get that panicky feeling like I am being suffocated when I first put on my mask. I have battled anxiety attacks in the past . This mask thing with the air pressure really seems to strike a nerve for me. Most times I am ok. I recently tried to up my pressure a little and I changed my flex from 2 to a 1 and it exacerbated my anxiety. Between the lower flex, which was less pressure relief upon exhale and the slightly higher pressure, I didn't last more than ten minutes. I jumped out of bed, switched my flex back to 2 and put my pressure back to 14 and that was that! I didn't read my SD card today but noticed that my ahi index was lower on the machine. I just started using my mask liner again and am hoping that will do the trick. If not I will call my dentist, and see about the mouth piece, the insurance has accepted my request for that. I am just a little negative on it because I have periodontal disease and don't want to have any problems with pressure on my teeth. I have a lot of bone loss and my teeth are slightly loose, don't want to rock the boat with that!
