Humidifier
I am a new user, approximately 3 months now. I do not use the humidifer (keep setting at zero). It is still attached to the machine though. My question is do I still need to add distilled water to the humidifier if I keep the setting at zero?
Re: Humidifier
You don't need to add water if the humidifier is off (set to zero). Some people like to add water with the humidifier set to zero for some low-level humidity, but if you don't need it, you don't have to add it. If you have a machine with a detachable humidifier, you can just take it off entirely.
Re: Humidifier
You will get a small amount of humidity from the humidifier if you leave it turned off but fill it with water, so if you have been adding water, you may still be getting some benefit. If you stop adding water, it may make a difference.
It shouldn't do any harm to stop adding water as long as you don't turn the humidifier on.
You'll probably get a burned smell if you accidentally turn the heater on with no water, and it's probably not good for the humdifier. If you're never going to use it, it may be worthwhile to disconnect the humidifier.
