Bottling Distilled Water
Bottling Distilled Water
Im interested in bottling some distilled water to take with me on trips (not flying, just driving). Does anyone know if there are any special rules for bottling distilled water? Can I just put it in a Nalgene bottle, or will that contaminate it? Thanks!

Handle it just like any other water. Why not just bring a gal. jug with you as long as you are driving?indyzoom wrote:Im interested in bottling some distilled water to take with me on trips (not flying, just driving). Re: Bottling Distilled Water
When I travel, I'm usually in a different hotel every night for 3 or 4 nights, just trying to keep the packing to a minimum! Anything I can fit in a bag is good. I figure a Nalgene would keep it clean and easily packed.

If I couldn't use gallon jugs that the water comes in I'but $20 worth of bottled water, dump it into the drain, and fill the bottles from the gallon jug, that would make it into Super Distilled Designer Water at $20.80 per gallon. Jim

I would use whatever is handy, clear and completely cleanable.
Empty pop, water, or spirit bottles (recyclable to avoid the return trip baggage)
I would clean them with the no-rinse beer bottle sanitizer --'star-san'?,
and then fill. Enjoy your trip.

Re: Bottling Distilled Water
When I travel I buy bottled water to use in my machine. When i get home I just wash my humidifier out and get it ready for a night a home, where I do use my distilled water.

Re: Bottling Distilled Water
Any container would do, if the intent is to downsize the bottle. A rinsed pop bottle would do. How about just using the tap water. Unless you are in Mexico or it has been deemed un-drinkable, it would be perfectly safe. No different then breathing the humidity of the tap water while taking a shower.
