George,
You might want to look at the user guide for SleepyHead.
Here is link in case you don't have it or haven't seen it.
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/s ... sers_Guide
I think it will help you get things going in SleepyHead.

I thought it would be easier than that to get Sleepyhead. It seems awful complicated to me at this time. I registered, but don't know how to get it.

Re: Can someone give me Sleepyhead software link
For any readers trying to get SleepyHead, I am not sure what could be easier than this link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/files/. It clearly says "Looking for the latest version ..."
The user guide is probably helpful if you have not used the software before. You do need to remember that it is not yet beta (but is almost), so there are bugs in it, and code that is incomplete. "Features" may change from version to version - no point in getting upset about that. The author is just like many of us - a sleep apnea patient, who has good days and bad days. So I think we should applaud his successes and pay less attention to things that may be on our wish list! Thank you, Mark!
FYI, I have no interest in SleepyHead other than a user who is very impressed with the work that has been done on developing a viable alternative to the almost useless (in comparison) Encore Viewer from Re$pironic$!

Re: Can someone give me Sleepyhead software link
George now has SleepyHead up and running.. Long story but a WinRar trial application was confusing things and it doesn't want to let itself be uninstalled. What a PITA.
Question for the computer gurus....Anyone have any idea why Windows Vista won't give the normal choices when we right click mouse on an exe file...like SleepyHead application.exe file? No choice to pin to start menu or start menu...no choice to create a desktop short cut. We tried the old fashioned click and drag to task bar and it copied to taskbar but then it wouldn't open SleepyHead, got some sort of error. I did the click and drag thing to my taskbar and it opened SleepyHead just fine.

What service pack? Any anti-malware software or just malware? Is the user Admin on the box?
Soo many questions, too little time. I must catch up on the troll threads.

I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Huh? Alpha? Vista Home Premium as in pre Windows 7.. There is another one coming out?GumbyCT wrote:Vista is not yet Alpha....

I have Vista on a 3 year old computer. I just checked it and pin to start menu or taskbar is offered as a choice just like with my Windows 7 along with create shortcut thing. All these were available even on XP.
I was running out of cell phone battery after George's struggle with WinRar so I didn't go into Service pack and Administrator thing with him. In the back of my mind I wondered about Administrator rights but didn't want to open up that can of worms. No time and George was exhausted.
Something is blocking the normal choices...I have no idea what it is. All I wanted was for George to be able to easily open SleepyHead and not have to go back into the download folders again because I was afraid he would forget. It should have worked by copying to taskbar but it didn't and we tried multiple times.

Google ".exe file association vista". Some of the suggestions are a bit scary. Be sure to read carefully, and make a system restore point first.

Re: Can someone give me Sleepyhead software link
I googled. What I saw didn't describe the problem George has unless I missed it. There is no problem opening SleepyHead with the application file in the folder. I just couldn't get a copy of that exe file out of the folder that would still work.archangle wrote:Google ".exe file association vista". Some of the suggestions are a bit scary. No problem with a file opening another program.
In other words SleepyHead works fine. We just couldn't get any shortcuts to work. These are normal shortcuts and for some reason he doesn't have those options available so maybe something in administrator permissions is blocking things.
My bag of tricks is empty though. I ran out of ideas. SleepyHead is useable as it is..just more work going to find the exe file each time. For now, he will keep in minimized.

Re: Can someone give me Sleepyhead software link
The file association for .lnk files is the problem there. Google ".lnk file association." Microshaft uses ".lnk" files for links, and the file extension is hidden really well.
More scary fixes to try. It sounds like the easiest fix is to download a utility, but I don't know for sure that the source is safe. It's probably safe, but there's a lot of professional criminals out there trying to hack your PC.
