Hi,
A friend is going to see his sleep Dr. this Tuesday and may be prescribed cpap equipment at that time. My mom and I both use Resperonics M-Series auto machines and Swift LT nasal masks.
Assuming he may be diagnosed with simple OA, I want to pass on equivalent equipment specifications to what I use to provide his Dr. to write the prescription.
Would one of you knowledgeable folks please provide me with what is available on the market today, equivalent to the equipment I'm using and so happy with?
Thanks,

First,
Have your friend read and re-read What you need to know before your meet your DME by JanKnitz. Lots of good info and advice.
Second, JanKnitz also has a guide to Data Capable Machines that is up-to-date and reflects what's on the market now.
Third, my Advice to the newly diagnosed may be useful.
Fourth, if your friend needs help in understanding all the acronyms and terms used on the sleep study report, my Understanding the data in your sleep test will be useful.

Re: Advice For New OA Patient
Georgio,
I did my titration study with a Swift LT but started at home with the Swift FX - I love it and apparently so do many others. Less scary appearing for family members also.
I think I read that about 41% of sales are Swift FX masks. - not sure if that is % of all mask sales or of nasal pillow mask sales.

Re: Advice For New OA Patient
I have used the M Series APAP. The equivalent machine in the newer technology is the PR System One Remstar Auto CPAP with AFlex.. I have it in my profile...click on link to see it.
The ResMed equivalent would be the ResMed S9 AutoSet.
Both are excellent machines.
